FLYHOUSE ARENAS UPGRADES THE ACOUSTICS AT BIRMINGHAM JEFFERSON CONVENTION CENTER
Ten-stories high, with up to 19,000 seats, Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex's Arena is the largest venue in the state of Alabama and prides itself on its diverse use from concerts and conferences, to sports, ice shows, and even opera.
To keep up to date and provie their diverse audiences with the highest level of performance, the BJCC has hired Flyhouse Arenas for the design, fabrication, and installation of an acoustical system involving 120,000 square feet of perforated vinyl baffles.
The sharply staggered tiers of the seating area require the use of customized staging lifts developed by Flyhouse Arenas to allow safe, OSHA-approved access anywhere in the arena without the need to risk climbing along the steel support structures of the arena.
Installation in the BJCC is slated to begin May, 2009.
